Welcome to the Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) Service Learning Center, a place where students and the community invest in each other for the benefit of the common good. At the Service Learning Center, CSIT students employ their education, skills, and hands-on training to provide IT support for non-profit organizations, non-commercial community projects, senior citizens, and disabled persons. In return, students gain experiential learning as they work closely with community clients to manage projects with “real-world” specifications and timeframes. The CSIT Service Learning Center offers the following types of support and services:
- Digital Media: Proposals for 3D animated movies or stills, 3D graphics programs, or web development/designs are reviewed on a per-semester basis in August for the fall semester and in January for the spring semester.
- Networking Support and Administration: Proposals for network design and implementation (including wireless) and network documentation are reviewed on a per-semester basis in August for the fall semester and in January for the spring semester.
